Money donated to the Annual Fund supports the DLS operating budget.

Annual Fund Goal for 2019-2020

This pandemic has affected every family physically, emotionally, and/or financially. DLS is sensitive to the fact that this has been a difficult time for many families. Whether you support DLS with your time, treasure, or talent, we are grateful.

This year has been difficult for schools as well. We went into this year thinking Colorado’s per pupil revenue (ppr) would be up 5.9%, but because of COVID-19, it is down 7.5%. That puts DLS 13.4% below where we thought we would be.

For the 2020-21 school year, our goal is to raise 250k to support the operating budget. We raise this money through the Annual Fund, the Gala, year-round donations, and other ways to support DLS (Amazon Smile, King Soopers cards, etc).

We would love 100% family participation this year. Whether you give $1, $100, or $1,000, every donation counts and is appreciated.

Week 1: School Funding

Colorado is one of the lowest states in the nation when it comes to school funding. The effects of COVID-19 have also led to deep cuts in school funding. Every donation helps and is valued! Click the calculator to watch this week’s video lessons!

Week 2: Social Emotional Learning

DLS is committed to providing our students with excellent social and emotional learning (SEL) tools, K-8. We believe that strong SEL skills enhances their academic ability and helps them be model global citizens. Click on the icon above to view this week’s video lessons!

Week 3: STEAM

Through 3D printing, rigorous math curriculum, science-kit based learning, and more DLS implements STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) in every grade, for every student. Click the atom above to see this week’s video lessons!

Week 4: Language Immersion

DLS is a unique K-8 immersion school. The early total immersion model and three language curriculums (Spanish, Chinese, and English) are costly, but worth every penny! Click the word bubble above to see this week’s video lessons!

We are committed to creating a racially and socially just school culture, and providing our students with a culturally responsive, culturally relevant education.
