Christine Loven-Santos comes to DLS from the central office in Aurora Public Schools (APS) as a System Support Specialist, working alongside school administrators to ensure equitable systems are in place to meet the needs of students. Prior to APS, Christine taught newcomers and language arts at an alternative high school. She then became the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at that same school, focused on instructional leadership (with an emphasis on second language acquisition) and school-wide initiatives. Christine comes to DLS with strong leadership skills in and understanding of student support, and will be a great asset to DLS during this time of transition.
Christine has her Principal licensure, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Leadership for Educational Equity, Urban and Diverse Communities through the University of Colorado. In addition, she has a Master’s degree in Linguistically Diverse Education & Bilingual Special Education.
Christine brings a passion for equity, languages, and cultures as a parent of two trilingual boys in the Spanish program at DLS. Christine has served on our School Accountability Committee (SAC) and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) during the past 7 years. She’s thrilled about the opportunity to work for the DLS staff, students, and families, and we are thrilled to have her!
