Born in an industrial town in the North of England, Richard attended the University of Cambridge as an undergraduate as a beneficiary of the merit-based Isaac Newton Award and the Bell, Abbott & Barnes Award. Following a brief career as a Management Consultant, Richard has worked in schools since 2009 serving in a range of roles in the public, international and independent sector prior to joining Denver Charter Organisation in May 2019 as a Senior School Leader. Richard has achieved teaching certification in three countries (the UK, Germany and the USA) in addition to an M.A. in Contemporary History and an M.Ed. Leadership & Management, drawing upon instructional and operational experience to develop the fiduciary and strategic plans of schools authorized by a range of community and/or global stakeholders. Richard has also acted as consultant to the Board of Directors at the French American School of Denver; Board Member, Chief Financial Officer and Project Manager at the European Youth Parliament/Schwarzkopf-Stiftung and as Chair of the Board of a housing community in Lafayette, CO. Married to Anna, a swell Roller Derby type and a Teacher at Summit Middle School in Boulder and Dad to Florence (aged 6), their family are soon to house their second dog. In their free time, Richard and Florence build Lego sets and listen to Bob Dylan.
